Old Streets – New Stories: The Finisher Artwork for Rome Marathon 2025 by Camilla Falsini
Designed by Roman artist Camilla Falsini, this artwork captures the essence of the Rome Marathon—where ancient streets meet new personal stories. Inspired by the city's landmarks, urban wildlife, and ever-changing light, the piece reflects the rich history and vibrant movement of runners through the Eternal City.
A watchful cat, echoing the Capitoline she-wolf, symbolizes Rome’s legally protected feline guardians, while the Tiber River, Ponte Milvio, and Castel Sant’Angelo anchor the composition in history. The Colosseum stands as a reminder of endurance, and soaring seagulls mirror the runners' momentum. A nod to palm trees, brought to Europe by the Romans due to Julius Caesar’s love of dates, ties together the past and present.
This piece is a tribute to both Rome’s legacy and every runner who adds their story to its streets.
