Miles for mothers

The artwork

Created by Swedish artist Maria Trolle, this artwork was designed for Miles for Mothers, a charity run organized by Adidas Stockholm Run Club in support of Musikhjälpen 2024. With the theme "Everyone has the right to survive their pregnancy," the event raised awareness and contributed to the 60+ million SEK collected for maternal health.

The illustration portrays motherhood in a positive light, with a serene mother cradling her child beneath intertwining branches—symbolizing protection, strength, and the cycle of life. The seven flowers represent the seven maternity clinics along the ultra-marathon route, while the Stockholm skyline, featuring City Hall, ties the artwork to the city that united runners for this cause.

This piece is a tribute to all who ran, supported, and believed in the power of movement to create a safer future for mothers worldwide.
